Right of Withdrawal for End Customers (B2C) – New Legal Requirements for consumerNext Shops
Online retailers will be required in the future to provide a clearly visible and clearly labeled function for withdrawing from contracts on their websites. The goal is to make the withdrawal process just as easy for consumers as the purchase itself.
The new requirement applies to all B2C consumerNext online shops and concerns non-customizable products. The right of withdrawal must be integrated in the form of a visible withdrawal button.
When does the right of withdrawal become mandatory?
The regulation takes effect on June 19, 2026. By then, all consumerNext online shops must have fully completed the technical implementation.
Placement of the right of withdrawal on the homepage
The right of withdrawal should be integrated into your shop’s homepage in the form of a button - typically in the footer or in a comparable, permanently visible area. Please note that each shop owner is personally responsible for the implementation and, in particular, the legal accuracy of the content.
You can find an example implementation in our demo shop at: https://consumernext-demo.utypia.com.
