Canadian artist Ellen Bleiwas contacted Trodat Canada: she was looking for a Printy 4810 with the years 2021 and 2022. Since the date stamps offered in stores start with the current year, Canadian Operations Manager Jason Walsh provided his personal stamp and the artist could begin her work.
She has created works that she is showing in an exhibition in Toronto.
“GOT UP” is a series of 365 photos of her bed, right after she gets up. “PEEL” shows the peel of clementines that she peeled and stamped on each day of the longest Covid lockdown. Both works are about the accumulation of time and trying to capture time in a moment where it felt very slippery.
