| In 2001, Trodat launched its activities in the Chinese market. But why China? Thanks to its huge market and its long tradition in stamping, China just provides for an enormous market potential. High transport costs as well as high import duties, however, together with a lack of flexibility due to long delivery periods make exporting and importing to and from China rather unprofitable. Thus, sustainable and successful business is only possible if both market development and production for the Chinese market are located in China. "Trodat went to China to conquer the Chinese market from within!"
Trodat began to operate in the Chinese market in 2001. Successes achieved led to consistent growth but limited space at the previous TMX headquarters (Trodat Marking Devices Xiamen Co. Ltd.) in the city of Xiamen required a move to another location.
The move was completed by the end of November 2003. The new company premises cover a total area of 2,700 square metres, which is about 2.5 times larger than the original location of the company. Compared to these dimensions, Trodat's Austrian locations cover about 21,000 square metres. |
